Crude bombs were thrown at multiple places at Jagatdal, a child along with three people were injured.
As per report, a crude bomb attack took place in North 24 pgs district of West Bengal, Jagatdal, on Wednesday night. Particularly the incident took place at Gali no.17, the place is nearby locality of Arjun Singh, BJP MP, Barrackpore.
The police said that bombs were hurled at 15 places by some unidentified men, on Wednesday night. The area falls under ward no. 18 of Bhatpara Municipality. The accused men have also damaged the Local CCTV cameras of the place.
When the police arrived, the angry local mob explained the bombing. It is also reported that a bomb was thrown at the presence of the policemen.
Till now no clear evidence has come up to the police in order to understand the motive of the bombing or the gang involved.
Soon after this incident, BJP MP Arjun Singh visited the spot and asked the police to take immediate action. He also exclaimed, ” We have been calling the police for the past 10-12 days, but the police have not taken any steps to ensure the people’s safety. We have informed the Election commission complaining about the law and order in this area, amidst this another bombing incident happened again.”
He also accused the ruling party and said that it’s their instructions to the police to not take any step.
He also warned, ” If the police cannot take steps against this… then the game will become very dangerous and the Trinamool Congress and the hooligans will be finished.”
Arjun Singh also alleged that all this is done to create an atmosphere of fear and tension in order to stop local people from casting votes peacefully.
Mukul Roy, BJP leader Kolkata, also said that their party will approach the Election Commission to look after the matter.
On the other hand, Trinamool candidate of Jagatdal, Somnath Shyam, said that as far as he knows and has been informed, the bombing was not an outcome of political conflicts. They too are unknown to the exact reason behind the bombing and have requested the police to take action as soon as possible.
